Terms of Service

Sonus Playback provides private, passcode-gated rooms where a moderator can share unreleased audio, video and project assets with invited listeners, and collect notes, ratings and votes. Video rooms stream through a locked player with a forensic watermark. We provide the service as it exists today and may change or improve features over time.

Access is granted through room passcodes and invite links. You are responsible for keeping those codes confidential and for everything done under access you have shared. Moderators are responsible for who they invite into a room and for revoking access when it is no longer appropriate.

We may suspend access to a room or account where we reasonably believe these terms are being broken or the service is being used to distribute material unlawfully.

You keep all rights in the audio, video, artwork, documents and other material you upload or link. We claim no ownership of it and do not license it to anyone.

You are responsible for the content you upload. By uploading, you confirm you have the rights or permissions needed to share that material with the people you invite, and that doing so does not breach any agreement, law, or third-party right.

You grant us only the narrow permission needed to run the service: to store, process, transcode, watermark and stream your content to the listeners and viewers you have authorised.

Don't use Sonus Playback to distribute material you don't have rights to, to circumvent a room's access controls, to attempt to extract or re-host audio or video outside the player, to remove, obscure or tamper with a video watermark, or to attack, probe or overload the service. Don't upload malware or unlawful material.

Material shared in a room is intended for the people in that room. Listeners and viewers must not record, re-upload, forward or otherwise redistribute what they hear or see without the room owner's permission. Playback activity is logged and visible to the room's moderator. In video rooms that record includes the access code used, the watermark payload displayed, your playback position and a device tag — kept for access control and leak tracing, and retained on the same terms as the listen log, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

We work to keep the service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, third-party outages and factors outside our control can interrupt a session. Keep your own master copies of anything you upload — Sonus Playback is a review tool, not an archive of record.

Sonus Playback is currently free to use while in beta. If we introduce paid plans, we will give existing users clear notice before any charge applies, and you will never be billed without agreeing first.

You can stop using the service at any time and delete your rooms and their content. We may terminate or suspend access for a material breach of these terms. On termination, uploaded content is removed in line with our Privacy Policy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sonus Playback is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill or data arising from your use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above and, where significant, communicated to room owners.
